An Interview with Conductor Benjamin Zander
by Rick Wilson

A few years ago, I had an opportunity to spend some time with Benjamin Zander, the Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic. He has a world-wide reputation and is considered one of the very best conductors alive today.

I was able to watch him rehearse and later to record our discussion in his home in Boston. We talked about the role of the conductor both as a leader and as the spark plug for getting exceptional musical performances.

If you are a drum major or director of any marching band or drum corps, you should take 25 minutes to experience this interview with this exceptional conductor.

I hope you enjoy it.

Regards,
Rick Wilson

(I'd like to say a special hello to Gene Monterastelli and all of the drum majors involved in his Drum Corps International (DCI) leadership development program. I hope you all have exceptional success with your corps this season.)
